Corsage DIY Guide

Materials Needed

  1. Sola flowers

  2. Greenery

  3. Scissors

  4. Glue sticks

  5. Hot Glue Pot or Glue Gun

  6. Lace or Chiffon Ribbon

    1. Small Piece of Paper

Step-by-step:

1. Hot Glue Prep

Hot Glue Pot:

Cut glue sticks into small pieces ~1” long.

Place pieces on the silver part of the glue pot.

Plug in and turn on the glue pot.

Wait until the glue melts and looks clear.

Hot Glue Gun:

Insert a glue stick into the gun.

Plug in and turn on the glue gun

Wait until the gun heats up and is ready to use.

2. Flower Prep

Separate the flowers

Gently separate flowers by type and size.

For the dear holly 2” flowers (use the image as reference to identify the flower and apply the action) cut lightly the bottom of the flower without touching the thread so that it is easier to work with it.

Organize the flowers however you like to create your Corsage.

4. Assembling the Corsage

Lace

Straighten your lace and lay on a flat surface.

Cut a small piece of paper with measurements between 2" and 3" approx.

Place it under the lace and create a solid area for the flowers and greenery to stick to.

Greenery

Place the greenery in a circular motion in the center of the lace.

The circular shape should have an empty space in the center so you will be able to place the flowers then (as is shown in the image).

Add a small dab of hot glue to the end tip of the greenery attaching it to the lace.

Let the hot glue dry for each piece added before moving onto the next to avoid it moving and losing the look you have obtained.

Greenery with leaves: Willow Eucalyptus, Silver Dollar Eucalyptus, Leather Leaf, and Salal. (It is recommended to focus on the branches from the bottom up. Separating from the bottom will help divide more easily, and then start breaking down the pieces that have a lot of greenery at the top.)

Spike greenery: Bunny Tails, Lavender, Triticum Wheat Grass, and Mini Pampas. (It is recommended to position one or three stems together in each space to decorate with this greenery. It separates easily.)

Fluffy greenery: Baby Breath Sparkle, Baby Breath, Preserved Caspia, and Mini Gyp. (It is recommended to position a bundle about the width of a finger in each space to decorate with this greenery. It takes more time to separate.)

Stiff  greenery: Boxwood Greenery, and Satin Washed Eucalyptus - Kelly Green. (It is recommended to follow the same advice as for greenery with leaves and spikes, as this greenery has a very stiff trunk, and the leaves grow individually on each of these trunks.)

Flowers

Take the biggest flower you have to start your corsage (if you only have a 3” flower use the process as mentioned ignoring the second step)

Add the hot glue to the bottom of the flower, and set this in the empty center area of your lace in between your greenery. Be sure to position the flower at an inclined angle so all the flowers are readily visible.

Arrange the remaining flowers next to the first in a similar angle, on a circular pattern. Adjust until you’re happy with the look.

Let the hot glue dry for each flower before moving onto the next to avoid losing the visibility you have obtained.

6. Final details

Check your greenery:

Be sure to check your corsage from all angles and fill in the sides or empty spaces with greenery to give it a fuller look.

Check stability

Test tie the corsage to your wrist to make sure no part is loose.

Adjust any details as needed.

7. Optional: Presentation

For a more elaborated look, you can also add extra touches like pearls, bows, butterflies, or even play with the fabric, material or ribbon you want to work with to personalize the decorations to make it as unique as you.

Additional decoration: The great thing about sola flowers is that your creativity has no limits—feel free to add as many colors, textures, and elements as you like to make the boutonnieres truly reflect you and this special moment. Add leaves, twigs, glitter, bows, feathers or any other details to make the corsage yours.

Plus for realism: You can even add your favorite scent to the flowers, making them smell just how you want. The sola flowers material acts like a diffuser because of how absorbent they are, so adding a scent can make you enjoy your florals even more.
